Martin Miller & Tom Quayle - The Captain Meets

Tom Quayle and Martin Miller are spearheading a wave of young guitarists who are out to change the game. Combining a commitment to technique, a passion for jazz harmony and a love for the shred & fusion greats, they've forged an incredible sound that's as precise as it is dynamic. 

Tom Quayle started playing at the age of 15, initially preferring rock styles before gravitating towards jazz and fusion. He graduated from Leeds College of Music in 2002, and set about leaving his mark on the guitar world. He's since performed with the likes of John Petrucci, Dweezil Zappa, Greg Howe and many more.

Martin Miller studied at the renowned Carl-Maria-von-Weber college of music in Dresden, Germany, where he cut his teeth on the local performance circuit. Since then, he's hosted clinics and masterclasses worldwide and contributed to countless guitar tuition sits, becoming an invaluable resource for musicians everywhere.

Both now Ibanez artists with their own signature guitars, Tom & Martin stopped by the Andertons studio to give us the lowdown!

John Petrucci of Dream Theater - The Captain Meets

One of our most popular interviews – Dream Theater legend John Petrucci is a groundbreaking guitarist, incorporating progressive music, shred, jazz and his own unique flavour into one mindblowing band.

John is still a driving member of Dream Theater, with a back catalogue of 14 albums and counting, on top of a number of side projects and guest appearances. Tommy Emmanuel - The Captain Meets

Australian-American fingerstyle guitar wizard Tommy Emmanuel is something of a household name in the guitar world. Seamlessly blending jazz, folk, blues, bluegrass and country music, he's won countless awards throughout his career and is widely seen as one of the best acoustic guitarists of all time.

Known for his energetic stage presence, genre-defying compositions and spellbinding rhythmic playing, Emmanuel has never been one to shy away from experimentation.

Albert Lee - The Captain Meets

A wizard on guitar, Albert Lee is a true ‘old-time’ country and rock player with chops in the bucketloads. You might find it surprising that he’s not actually American! Albert Lee is arguably Britain’s most successful export in the genre, having worked with the Everly Brothers, Eric Clapton and Dolly Parton.

Described as a man without ego by his peers and the likes of Jimmy Page and Ritchie Blackmore, Albert is known as a real guitar player’s guitarist. Most of the time, you’ll find him with his signature Music Man or a Tele in his hands.
