Armed with his lap steel guitar, Coodercaster and bottleneck slide, Martin Harley has carved out a distinct tone inspired by the stirring sounds of delta blues and Americana. His last two albums were recorded in Nashville, the spiritual home of American folk and country music.
Alongside his own solo material, Martin has performed with the likes of Eric Clapton, Van Morrison and Laura Marling among others. He stopped by the Andertons TV studio to catch up with his old pal, our very own Captain Anderton - cue conversations about wanderlust, slide guitar tunings, the Nashville experience and much, much more...

Yvette Young is one of guitar music’s rising stars. Making music both as a solo artist and with math-rock trio Covet, her unique style combines two-hand tapping with open tunings and chiming clean tones, influenced by her background as a classically-trained pianist and violinist. Yvette sat down with the Captain in the Andertons studio to talk about gear, inspiration, motivation and life itself.
In our 'The Captain Meets...' series on Youtube, our very own Lee Anderton spends some quality time with some of the hottest and most influential artists in the business. Topics of discussion range from favourite guitar pedals to most severe injuries on tour - nothing is off-limits.
